Bio: Jennifer Vondracek is the Executive Director of yogaG, a Quad Cities-based nonprofit that brings trauma sensitive yoga and trauma informed care to women and children impacted by domestic violence. Jennifer's undergraduate and graduate studies were in the University of Wisconsin system in the field of Women's Studies, with an emphasis on political science, ethic of care, health sciences, motherhood, and the ascription of culture on the female body. Jennifer began practicing yoga in 2007 when she committed herself to losing 50 pounds and competing in her first triathlon. Looking to avoid injury while quieting her mind, she was hooked and continued practicing yoga throughout her third pregnancy in 2009. Yoga naturally weaved its way into her family and her graduate studies after eleven years in business development and hospitality, so Jennifer began training with Global Family Yoga in 2010. Her training with Global Family Yoga has prepared her to work exclusively with children, teens, and families, with additional training in yoga nidra and therapeutic yoga. In 2011 Jennifer helped found omTown yogis, a Milwaukee-based non-profit that mobilizes the collective resources of yoga instructors to match their intentions of elevating the level of service and consciousness in their communities. She holds a permanent advisory board position with omTown yogis, while also developing their brand through writing and content-development. Additional training in Trauma Sensitive Yoga with David Emerson and the Justice Resource Institute makes her style and philosophy both accessible and beneficial for people of all ages and abilities. At this time Jennifer is deeply involved in research around best practices in yoga service to traumatized and disadvantaged populations, and advocates for private funding to causes that implement evidence-based practices in yoga. Jennifer is personally committed to yoga, service, education, and her family.

Bio: For years, Nadine was a practicing physician in a thriving community hospital setting. But despite having reached what she thought was her ultimate goal, something was missing - a sense of true fulfillment. Nadine knew it was time for a change. She would no longer focus her attention on disease. The time had come to focus on health, wellness, and prevention, creating a vibrant life for herself and those around her. Already a yoga practitioner, Nadine understood the numerous physical and mental benefits of yoga in maintaining health and controlling a range of chronic conditions. So she decided to continue her lifelong journey of evolving and learning by becoming a full time yoga teacher. She received her 200 hour yoga certification at Reflections Yoga Center under the supervision of senior registered yoga teachers and Master Teacher Karen Nielsen. Nadine is currently completing certification as a 95-hour children's yoga teacher with Mira Binzen of Global Family Yoga. In addition, she is studying therapeutic yoga under the tutelage of Rich Logan. Through her work as a yoga instructor, Nadine is dedicated to bringing gentle yoga to seniors, flexible bodies and minds to kids and teens, and promoting the healing power of yoga to people of all ages.
