200-hour Certification
With a focus on Children and Families
Intended for those seeking a 200-hour certification who wish to specialize in teaching Yoga to children and families. Once you've completed this comprehensive training, you will be able to share the gift of Yoga with both children and adults. You will be qualified to register with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) if you so choose.
Requirements of the Global Family Yoga 200-hour teacher training program consists of:
Contact Hours (180 direct hours with Mira Binzen, E-RYT, RCYT, Director of Training)
Contact Hours are broken up into 4 modules:
- Planting Seeds - 30 hours being offered at various dates/locations
- Taking Root - 30 hours being offered at various dates/locations
- Branching Out - 30 hours being offered at various dates/locations
- Developing Your Dharma - 90 hours being offered July 19-28, 2012 in Plano, IL

20 hours Independent Practicum (done in your own community during the certification process).
The 20-hour independent practicum is an important requirement of the program. This is your chance to reflect on your personal Yoga practice, philosophy, lifestyle and ethics. The skills and techniques you have learned will be put into action as you facilitate classes in your community. You will be personally mentored by our Director of Training throughout this process.
Final Assessment (done at the culmination of training requirements)
Each of our students is given a Final Assessment at the culmination of their training experience. This assessment gives the student a chance to assimilate and express all they have learned throughout the process and it allows us to assure that we are certifying the most highly qualified Yoga teachers.
